Landscapes

Here are a couple of Landscapes!

"Lake" 16x20 Acrylic on Canvas, 2012

Painted from imagination and memory.  Like much of my art it is inspired by my time spent by the lake.  In this painting I tried to create a foggy environment.

"Small Waterfall" 16x20 Acrylic on Canvas, 2011

This one is actually a little older, it was created last year.   It's an Autumn scene painting of a small waterfall.  I actually tried to enter this into the Student art show on campus (it was rejected).

Black and White Studies

Here are some black and white studies I did recently

"The Science Building" 2012 Acrylic

Small black and white Plein-air painting of the roof of the science building at the university I attend. Done in a single sitting.

"Cordell Hull" 2012 Acrylic

Painted from photograph I took.  Yet another representation of my lake.

"Cityscape" 2012 Acrylic

Painted purely from imagination.  A city seen in the distance across a body of water

End of semester

It's been a very long time since my last post.  I've been very busy with my school work and personal life, but I never quit painting.  This semester has been very interesting, I studied under a completely different painting teacher and started on my senior thesis.  Here are a couple of things I did this semester.  I will be uploading a lot more (especially when I get my camera to working) so keep in touch.

"By the dock" 30 x 40 Oil paint
Monochromatic grey-scale painting created primarily from my own photograph.  The picture I took wasn't very clear so I used the tree line behind my house as a model.

"Alone" 30 x 40 Oil paint

This is actually a pallet knife painting.  Made using primarily blues, purples, white and black.  This is painted mostly from imagination although I did have a reference photograph at the very beginning.
