Spring Semester 2011...so far

Here is some of my work from my painting class this semester. My professor often demonstrates techniques directly onto our class paintings (including mine) so I can't take credit for every brushstroke on these four paintings. They are all unfinished as well.

I have also been studying cardinals the last couple of weeks! Here's a couple of things I have done lately. I plan on doing some with Brown Cardinals and some with both the Male and Female cardinals in one picture.

Sky lights

This was for a class project at APSU. I plan on doing a whole series using this idea. For this painting my instructor told us to select music and create art in response to that music. The musician I chose to listen to was "Ray Charles". I have actually been trying to do more of this sort of painting lately and I am finding I can not get into the right state of mind to paint in this manner unless I am listening to Ray.
