Some more Artsy stuffs! Here are some more arts, most of which I've been working on recently. Not all of them are complete, (when are they ever?) and I was pressed for time with bad lighting so the photos might not be the best.Eyeball vortex. September 2011 Watercolor.
I've been doing a few things like this for the last year now. I first got into this subject matter thanks to a simple sketch I did for an art class at APSU. That dark spot on the bottom is a shadow from the tree over head.
Study of Apollo. Charcoal on newsprint, September 2011.
I did this one morning before painting class just for fun. My professor has a sculpture (Head and shoulders bust) of Apollo set up for us to practice on when we have free time. Just a quick charcoal drawing of my friend Apollo.
Melancholy Still-life. Acrylic on canvas, Fall 2009.
This is actually from about three years ago. I did this for my Painting II class at TTU (Tennessee Tech University) My teacher had us set up still-lifes and then she gave us a "word" to paint by. The word she chose was "Melancholy", hence the title.
Lake in autumn. September 2011, watercolor
Painted mostly from imagination. A quick watercolor painting of a lake in autumn. The angle is really wonky on my photograph.
Night Watch. Oil on canvas, 2011
This one is still in process. I was thinking about putting a cigarette in the birds mouth.
Gray-scale rose II. Oil on canvas, September 2011
I recently started doing a series of black and white paintings of roses. This is actually a smaller painting. I only used black and white paint for this one.
Gray-scale rose I. Oil on wood
panel, September 2011.
This is the first rose in gray-scale. However with this one instead of using purely black and white paint, I mixed grayish colors (using primarily blues + browns) along side black and white.
The point. Watercolor, September 2011
The point is a piece of land that sticks out into Cordell Hull lake nearby my families property. It's one of my favorite subject matters (primarily just because it's a peaceful place). A great place to meditate and fish!
